BEACHES NEWS

April 23nd, 2005 — OMG it’s been a year and a day!!!

Sorry folks, but I actually haven’t updated much in an entire year. We are just a few hours away from the next Stanley Stein. Well, registration is a little light, but we still have our great stein prizes to give away as well as a cash prize for our fun event afterwards. I hope a whole lot of fencers read this in the next few hours and come out for the event. It’s 9:00 Sunday morning (tomorrow).

On another note, I had made some updates to the fees a few weeks ago but didn’t update this posting. Oops again. Really, I’m going take better care of this site.

April 22nd, 2004 — Getting ready for Stanley Stein

I have posted new tournament information. The upcoming Stanley Stein Open (this Sunday) is ready to go and I have put up the list of registered fencers. If you don’t see your name, you aren’t registered and will have to pay the late fees. Hope to see you all there. Oh, and by the way, we will be having a pot luck dinner after the event and everyone is invited to stay for that.

February 16th, 2004 — Long over-due changes

This has been a long time coming. There are changes to the fee structure and some clarifications about the schedule. If you are already a member of the club, there is nothing here you have to worry about.
There are some new tidbits for our members about novice classes and such. Check out the programs section (still being worked on). This section should be completed tomorrow or the day after. Yes, I know the buttons are a little goofy right now.
As always, if you have any comments, I would love to hear them.

April 2nd, 2003 — First Revisions

The first batch of revisions have been made to the web site. There were a lot of comments about the legibility, so that has been improved (I hope). Bigger text and no images beneath the text. A pack of corrections were made and there should be less problems with images scaling. I said less OK … jeez. Again, if you see anything amiss, please contact the webmaster and I will get right on it. This new update took a while since we have been far from stable the last couple of weeks. If you see more updates here, take that as a good sign that we are back on the upswing. Oh yeah, the photos section got an overhaul as well. More good stuff to come soon, I think.

March 23rd, 2003 — Welcome to the new site!!!!

We finally updated the old site and got rid of a lot of the the dead weight. There is a whole new image but with the same friendly environment. Go ahead, take a moment and cruise around. There are still a number of big changes coming down the line. Notably, we will have Biographies of all our key players and a whole lot more fencing images. There will be a much more comprehensive library of photos, which will go nicely with some more cosmetic work. Hopefully, I can get the frames working on the web site as well. That means you won’t have to go hunting for our nifty buttons; they will always be on screen and ready to go. Keep your eyes open, it only gets better from here.

BTW: thanks everyone who chipped in on this project, Mike Kasunic, Sara Carrick and Renata Bero-Koch. This never would have happened without you.
