At
the Beaches Sabre Club, we teach an "Introduction
to Sabre fencing" course that we call our Beginner
Program.
We also cater to experienced fencers of every level: from
recreational athletes all the
way up to International superstars. We are proud to have
both the FIRST-EVER WOMEN'S SABRE WORLD
CHAMPION and a CADET WOMEN'S SABRE
BRONZE MEDALIST at our club. We hold equally strong
positions on the Ontario Provincial and Canadian National
men's sabre teams.
If
you are looking to try fencing
for the first time, we are the club to see in Toronto.
We have our own full-time
facility and a large staff
of masters and instructors to help you develop. We currently
have one Master, Iosef Mirkin, who we acquired amicably from Ryerson University. We want you to learn
develop your own style of fencing. You can tell by our
track record that we know how to make good fencers, but
if you are just looking for a good time you will feel
right at home as well. We encourage recreational fencers
and are well know in the community for our social side
and post tournament parties.
All of our classes are co-ed. We have a large number of
younger fencers (age 10 to 19) but are hardly a daycare
center. There are plenty of adults as well; who do you
think throws those great parties? If you are in great
shape or just want to get there, fencing with us will
keep you active and show you a great time.
If
you want to learn more about the club we have a FAQ
for people new to the sport, and a section on our beginner
classes. To learn how to sign up click here
.
We have info on our fees and
schedules, as well
as great directions on
how to find us. If you still have questions, just contact
us at the club. Hope to hear from you soon, remember:
spectators are always welcome.
Our
coaches are Iosef Mirkin, Perry Stevens and Jim Stevens. They are responsible
for our group lessons for novice, advanced and elite sabre
fencers. They also offer individual lessons for an extra
cost. Jim Stevens instructs the beginner and novice fencers.
